NSW Aboriginal Safe Gambling Service manages NSW GambleAware Aboriginal Service. The Organisation is an Aboriginal owned service which has 100% Aboriginal staff. The GambleAware Aboriginal Service focuses on 6 key functions:
Education
Deliver Aboriginal Gambling Information Workshops and Yarning circles.
Awareness
Promotional activities including, advertising through local media, attending or organising community events, ie, Health, Sporting, and/or Cultural Events.
Community Engagement
To build meaningful relationships with Aboriginal people, key services and relevant stakeholders. Our focus is to engage with these local services and the local programs within the community.
Help
To assist Aboriginal people to seek help through professional counsellors at GambleAware Services around NSW.
Action
Facilitate further development of local community strategies and action plans.
Cultural Awareness
To provide cultural support, training and direction for GambleAware Services
